TRAVELLING IN ITALY : A visual guide

Here are a few of the sites of Italy that you might need to find when you are travelling overseas

WINE IS GREAT.. Have fun trying different Italian wines while you are over there!
The Story of Santa Margherita Pinot
In the states, this bottle costs over $20.00
In the Italian Grocery Store it was 9Euros (10.50)
At the restaurant it was 15 E.
Moral of the story. Buy at the Grocery store.. It's way cheaper.

THE BEST FOOD CAN BE FOUND ALL OVER ITALY
Just look around for great meals.. here are some of my favorites

Pizza is all over and it's not the same as in the USA. It's better

Stop at an Alimentari (small grocery) for cheeses, sausages and crackers as a snack..

BREAD IN ITALY IS AWESOME

Pasta of all kinds is a treat... this one is with sausage.

Crusty Italian Bread, cheese and wine... a great snack

This is water bottled in Italy served at hotels, restaurants, and in shops. There are two
two types: con gaso (with bubbles) or "still" that is regular water. Most of the bubble ones are mineral water that I actually favor!

You can't walk a block without seeing pastry everywhere.

On of my favorites: Sfogliatelle which is filled with Ricotta Cream.. Awesome

Truffle and cream sauce on Ravioli. You never had it any better!

Bows and mushrooms

Stop by the fruit stand for something fresh,... Try the blood oranges..they are delicious

 ITALIAN SWEET TREATS

Cannoli... wonderful

PERFUME

Around Italy you will find the Carthusian Perfume Factory selling beautifully bottled fragrances and other accessories. This one above is in Capri but you will find them in many other cities of Italy

LOVE THAT GELATO

WITH COOKIES AND CANDY

WITH A CUP OF JOE

And more cookies

and Hazelnut cake

Meat plates with cheese are a quick lunch. Sopressata, Salami, cheeses and olives are wonderful.

GETTING YOUR MEDS

If you get sick in Italy the best place to head is to a Farmacia. Many are open in the evening and many of the people speak English.  I was having a terrible back ache after walking all over Capri. I walked in and told the pharmacist that I had sciatica... "Si, Sciatica...Mobic" and then she produced a box of 10 mg Mobic which is a great pain reliever.. for about 6 Euros (7 dollars or so). Cheaper than in the states.. and it certainly helped out. You do not need a prescription for many of the drugs that you might need.
I do advise that before you leave that you get prescriptions from your doctor  just in case. A Z-Pack is helpful and bring along cold medicine because they don't seem to have any good choices for that in the pharmacy.

ATM MACHINES
When you are in Italy, stick with using your debit card to withdraw money from reputable banks. I got my cash at the Bank of Naples, Bancomat, and the Bank of Florence.
Now remember... there are charges from your bank. Don't make little withdrawals all the time... because it is actually cheaper for you to withdraw for several days at a time.

I withdrew 500E (about 600 dollars) there were 3 different charges when I got home.. totally about $30 for the withdrawal..

NEVER EVER NEVER EVER GO TO A CHANGE/CAMBIO booth.. They totally rip you off. They are not a bank and they charge out the nose for what you get. Don't make that mistake...
Stick with regular banks when travelling in Italy.
